Transfer & Refund Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
This Transfer & Refund Policy explains how SapphireDomains.com (“Sapphire Domains”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles premium domain acquisitions, transfer timing, escrow protection, failed transfers, refunds, and post-transfer finality.
Domain names are unique digital assets. Once control of a domain name has been transferred to a buyer, the transaction may not be reversible in the same way as a physical product return. For this reason, all buyers should carefully review the domain, price, checkout method, registrar requirements, legal considerations, and transfer instructions before completing an acquisition.
1. Escrow and Payment Protection
Where available, domain acquisitions may be processed through trusted third-party providers such as Escrow.com, Atom.com, Spaceship.com, Unstoppable Domains, registrars, payment processors, or other transaction partners.
For escrow-supported transactions, funds are generally held by the applicable escrow or transaction provider until the domain transfer process is completed according to that provider’s terms. The specific payment flow, verification requirements, fees, release conditions, dispute process, and refund process may depend on the third-party provider used for the transaction.
SapphireDomains.com does not store full payment card details and does not control the internal policies, processing times, KYC/AML checks, or account requirements of third-party providers.
2. Transfer Timeframes
We aim to support fast and secure domain transfers. However, actual transfer timing may vary depending on registrar, registry, escrow, marketplace, payment, account verification, and buyer response factors.
- Fast Transfer Assets: Domains described as fast-transfer or instant-transfer assets are typically eligible for faster ownership handover, often through a registrar account push or marketplace transfer flow. Actual timing depends on provider availability, account readiness, and successful verification.
- Standard Escrow Transfers: Standard escrow or registrar transfers may take several business days and can be affected by payment clearing, registrar policies, ICANN transfer rules, domain lock status, transfer authorization codes, buyer responsiveness, and third-party provider processing.
- DNS Propagation: Even after ownership transfer, DNS updates may require additional time to propagate globally depending on nameserver settings, TTL values, registry systems, and network caching.
3. Buyer Responsibilities
Before completing a purchase or accepting transfer of a domain name, the buyer is responsible for:
- reviewing the domain name, extension, price, and checkout method;
- ensuring the receiving registrar account is active and able to receive the domain;
- responding promptly to escrow, registrar, marketplace, or transfer instructions;
- conducting trademark, legal, regulatory, business name, or brand clearance checks before acquisition;
- confirming that the intended use of the domain complies with applicable laws, platform policies, and third-party rights.
4. Finality After Successful Transfer
Once a domain name has been successfully transferred, pushed, or otherwise delivered to the buyer’s registrar, marketplace, wallet, or account, the acquisition is generally considered final.
Because domain control may transfer at the registrar or registry level, SapphireDomains.com generally cannot unilaterally reverse a completed transfer, recover a transferred domain, or cancel a completed third-party transaction.
After successful transfer, refunds, returns, or exchanges are not offered unless expressly required by applicable law, required by the applicable escrow or transaction provider, or agreed in writing by SapphireDomains.com.
5. Failed Transfers and Refund Eligibility
A refund or cancellation may be available where a transaction cannot be completed for reasons outside the buyer’s control, subject to the rules of the applicable escrow, registrar, marketplace, payment, or transaction provider.
Examples may include:
- the domain is no longer available for transfer;
- the seller or controlling party is unable to provide a valid authorization code or initiate the required account push;
- the domain is subject to an undisclosed lock, dispute, hold, or restriction that prevents transfer;
- the applicable escrow or transaction provider determines that the transaction should be canceled or refunded under its terms;
- SapphireDomains.com is unable to complete delivery of the asset through the agreed transaction path.
Refunds, where applicable, may be processed by the relevant third-party escrow, marketplace, registrar, or payment provider. Processing times, fees, currency conversion, banking delays, and refund methods may vary by provider and payment method.
6. Non-Refundable Situations
Unless required by applicable law or the relevant third-party provider’s terms, refunds are generally not available after successful transfer due to:
- buyer remorse or change of mind;
- failure to conduct trademark, legal, business, or technical due diligence before purchase;
- a buyer’s inability to use, develop, resell, finance, monetize, rank, or brand the domain as expected;
- search engine, traffic, advertising, or business performance outcomes after acquisition;
- delays caused by the buyer’s registrar account, verification, payment method, incomplete information, or failure to respond to transfer instructions;
- third-party fees, exchange-rate differences, or banking charges outside our control.
7. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If a buyer believes a transaction has failed or a transfer has not been completed, the buyer should contact us and the applicable escrow or payment provider promptly so the issue can be reviewed through the proper dispute process.
Unauthorized or bad-faith payment disputes after successful transfer may result in suspension of support, evidence submission to the relevant provider, registrar cooperation, account restriction, recovery efforts, and legal remedies where appropriate.
8. Third-Party Provider Terms
Transactions completed through Escrow.com, Atom.com, Spaceship.com, Unstoppable Domains, registrars, payment processors, or other third-party providers are also subject to those providers’ own terms, policies, fees, verification requirements, transfer rules, and dispute procedures.
If there is a conflict between this policy and the mandatory rules of an applicable escrow, registrar, marketplace, or payment provider, the provider’s transaction-specific rules may control that part of the process.
